TrussGroup begins an Architectural Design by laying down an 'Armature' from which Architecture, Landscape, and a sense of community 'grow'. This armature is very different from the 20th century modernist architectural object that stands in isolation-- self-fulfilled, and in competition with its surrounding context. Instead, our designers provide a design process that drops catalytic elements into an existing field. Our designs inform pieces that change, and are changed by, there surrounding conditions. TrussGroup's designs anticipate customizing by the populace, which uses them. We seek a dialogue with their ever-changing audience. As soon as one of our projects is built, it begins to change. It begins to take on its own life as users layer into it, change it, and move it around. Our Architectural projects expand and elaborate beyond themselves.
